Gregory Amber 34 Day Pack

I chose this Gregory day pack because one of my friends who hiked with me quite a bit back home had a Gregory bag similar to this one and liked it. If you click on the image, it will bring you to the link to purchase this bag. I enjoy this product because it fits my short frame. This bag has a storage pouch for my laptop if I’m using it to travel which I swap out for my water bladder when I’m hiking. The rain cover this bag comes with is a life saver when it starts to rain on the trail and I have my camera gear with me.

Garmin inReach Mini

I use the Garmin inReach Mini because I wanted to stop waiting around for people to join me on adventures; I wanted to feel safe traveling, hiking, and backpacking alone if no one could accompany me. This GPS is amazing for hiking, driving the backroads, travelling internationally, or even working where I do. When there’s no service I am always able to send and receive text messages using Iridium satellite that sends my location over SMS (I use this in lieu of texting sometimes), there is a SOS button, weather updates, and location sharing. There is a monthly subscription fee to use this device, but it’s totally worth it. Personally, I chose the “Extreme” subscription option for safety. The inReach Mini is compatible with my iPhone or using the device itself. On call at work, I use this device when I am not within service range to alert me of emergencies I have to respond to. When I lost my cat, Oat, in the bush walking him on his harness I was able to stay in touch to ask for help. It’s also simple peace of mind travelling or hiking knowing I always have service if anything were to happen. If you click on the image, it will bring you to the link to purchase this device.
